Course Learning Objectives Brokers will become more proficient with the following:

  • Better understanding the Buyer’s Repair and Seller’s Response Addendum
  • Better communicating with clients on vetting the buyer’s repair details and navigating the terms to successful and timely completion.
  • Final agreement on repairs is required to be submitted to the lender in the transaction. A clean paper trail on the  negotiation helps to avoid confusion, and provides solid communication with all parties prior to drafting an agreement on repairs. Avoid these pitfalls and strengthen communication in your final transaction.
  • Factoring timelines including Buyer-Seller agreement to repairs, completion of repairs, inspections and all other details to the final transaction.
  • Since there is no deadline for Seller’s acceptance of this proposal, the parties may wish to consider a written extension of any applicable inspection periods
  • Carry over like any counter-offer: Does the seller and listing agents both know what they agreed to per the Seller’s Response to the Buyer’s Repair Addendum? Understanding and implementing this is critical.
