Q: Why does OREF 021 – Lead Based Paint Disclosure Addendum have another buyer initial area on page 1 in Section 4 on the right side of the page?

A: The initial lines in Section 4 (lines 38–39) of OREF 021 – Lead Based Paint Disclosure Addendum are required by the EPA and serve as a follow-up acknowledgment. They are used only if the buyer initialed line 36, indicating they had not yet received the Lead-Based Paint documents when they signed the addendum. After those documents are delivered, the buyer initials lines 38–39 to confirm receipt and document the date they were provided.
