Real estate isn’t the first industry you think of when considering copyright agreements since it primarily focuses on transferring real property. But if you’ve ever dealt with a copyrighted architectural design, a piece of artwork that is permanently affixed to a property, or professional photography, then a transfer of copyright may be necessary.

The purpose of the C-517 form is to create an agreement between the contractor and the customer for ownership of the copyright in question.
